About the role
Senior Mechanical & Plumbing Engineer – MEP Design Locations: Los Angeles Metro, CA Work Arrangement: Hybrid — 3 days per week in office Employment Type: Full-Time Key Responsibilities - Lead mechanical and/or plumbing design for commercial and institutional projects. - Prepare, coordinate, and review engineering drawings and construction documents. - Develop HVAC, plumbing, piping, equipment, and related building-system designs. - Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines. - Perform technical calculations, equipment selection, system layouts, and design reviews. - Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements. - Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and internal project teams. - Review drawings produced by engineers and designers for accuracy and constructability. - Support projects through design development, permitting, bidding, and construction. - Mentor junior engineering staff and contribute to project leadership as needed. Required Qualifications - 7+ years of mechanical, plumbing, or MEP design experience. - Experience working within an engineering or MEP consulting environment. - P.E. license and/or CPD credential required. - Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit. - Experience producing and reviewing coordinated construction documents. - Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or plumbing systems, applicable codes, and industry standards. - Strong communication, collaboration, and project coordination skills. Relevant Project Experience Candidates should have experience working on projects such as: - Commercial - Residential - Mixed-use - Education - Healthcare - Institutional - Other similar building and facility projects Preferred Qualifications - Previous Project Manager or Team Lead experience is preferred, but not required. - Experience leading projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, or mentoring junior staff is a plus. Work Schedule This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week in the office.
